Dialectical Therapy: An Applied OverviewFriday, Septerber 25, 20269:00 AM - 12:00 PMLive Webinar via ZoomSpeaker: Amy Hoch, PsyD, Director of Wellness Center, Rowan UniversityThis 3-hour presentation will provide an overview of the theoretical foundations and evidence base of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), including acceptance, change, and dialectical strategies. Participants will engage in experiential practice with behavioral chain analysis and the five DBT skill modules (i.e., distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and walking the middle path). Special attention will be given to the transdiagnostic efficacy of DBT and its application with clients who have PTSD. Content is grounded in current peer- reviewed research, including randomized clinical trials, systematic reviews, and studies examining mechanisms of change, with an emphasis on translating evidence-based principles into effective clinical practice.Level of Instruction: IntermediateNumber of Credits: 3 Credits offered: NBCC, APA

Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, School of Professional and Applied Psychology maintains responsibility for this program and its content. The Pennsylvania Board of Social Work Examiners hours/credits for social workers. However, all social workers are responsible for checking with their Board. The Board requires a minimum duration of two hours per program. After successfully meeting the criteria for earning CE’s, social workers will receive the Certificate of Attendance.
